Soraa LED Lighting Buying Guide
Soraa lighting is designed for applications where the quality, direction and color of light matter. The product
range includes compact MR16 lamps, PAR reflector lamps, AR111 lamps, evening-focused ZeroBlue products and magnetic
SNAP accessories. Because many Soraa lamps are available in several beam angles, color temperatures, bases and
performance series, choosing by appearance alone can lead to the wrong replacement.
Understanding Soraa Product Series
Soraa Vivid is intended for spaces where natural color rendering, visual contrast and accurate
appearance are essential. Soraa Brilliant HL provides higher lumen output and improved efficiency
while maintaining strong color performance. Soraa ZeroBlue is an evening-focused family designed
with very low blue-wavelength output. Soraa SNAP accessories are magnetic optical accessories made
for compatible Soraa lamps.
GU10 vs. GU5.3: Match the Base and Voltage
MR16 describes the reflector shape, not the electrical base. GU10 and GU5.3 lamps are not interchangeable.
| Base |
Connection |
Typical voltage |
What to check |
| GU10 |
Twist-and-lock |
Often 120V in the U.S. |
Fixture voltage, dimmer compatibility and lamp length |
| GU5.3 |
Two straight pins |
Often 12V |
Transformer, dimmer and minimum-load compatibility |
Choosing a Color Temperature
2700K creates a warm appearance suited to residential spaces, restaurants and hospitality.
3000K remains warm while appearing slightly cleaner and is common in retail, galleries and
contemporary interiors. Availability varies by model, series and beam angle, so match the full ordering code when
replacing an existing lamp.
Why CRI and Color Quality Matter
CRI describes how naturally colors appear under a light source. High color-rendering performance is especially
valuable for artwork, merchandise, fabrics, food, skin tones and interior finishes. Two lamps with the same wattage
and color temperature can still make colors look different because their spectral quality is not the same.
